EV Infrastructure
Electric vehicles will form a key part in achieving carbon reduction goals nationwide, as policy works to introduce them into the mainstream at an increasing pace. Whilst the deadline for sales of new petrol and diesel vehicles is fast approaching, it is important that councils across the country introduce the infrastructure necessary to make an electric vehicle a viable option for everyone. The first leaders’ debate of the conference will bring key insights, challenges, and strategies involved in rolling out effective electric vehicle infrastructure.

Mark has extensive experience in local and regional strategy and programme development and delivery, working with senior officers and elected members to facilitate better partnership working.

The second panel discussion of the day will see expert speakers coming together to discuss the role that new technology and artificial intelligence can play in the future of net zero. With the public sector working hard to reduce carbon emissions in all aspects of their operations, new tech will be central to achieving this goal – whether this is by improving monitoring or simply providing new green tech that can replace older, more carbon intensive processes.

Alternative Fuels and Solutions
Great British Energy was introduced by the Labour Government when it won last year’s general election, and it is now working to look at how the UK can function on more environmentally friendly energy sources. Alongside this, organisations from across the sector are introducing new ways to heat and power homes, as well as the services that communities rely on. This panel discussion will delve into those alternative fuels, with key insight offered by panellists.
